Into the Wild

Last year Australians took 15.2 million caravan and camping trips and now with the days growing warmer and longer, everyone is planning and preparing for a new season of getaways.

The Caravan Industry Association of Australia recently released its 2025 Consumer Sentiment Report, revealing that 88 per cent of respondents plan to caravan or camp in the next year.

To help make sure your gear is built for the task, Aussie-owned brand Kodiak has just launched, offering a collection of hard coolers and insulated drinkware designed to keep the food and drinks chilled throughout those action-packed days and nights.

Its line of premium coolers and drinkware blends strength and style, making it suitable for all activities from beach days to bushwalks, backyard barbecues to camping trips and all the small activities in between.

Kodiak was born from a simple frustration: outdoor gear had become overengineered, overpriced and underwhelming in real-world durability. Australians needed something tougher, gear that could survive our heat, salt, dust and distance between destinations, explains co-founder Simon Burnett.

"We set out to build hard coolers and drinkware that were genuinely rugged, beautifully designed and purpose-built for the wild, not just the catalogue," he says.

"That meant five day cold insulation, leakproof and waterproof construction and UV-resistant materials, all backed by a five-year warranty to show we mean it. Kodiak exists to make adventures easier, longer and better remembered."

All Kodiak gear is made under strict quality control, every design decision, test and standards are led right here at home. Australia is one of the toughest testing grounds in the world. If your gear isn't built properly, it shows. Kodiak was engineered precisely for these conditions- intense UV, long summer days, remote travel and a culture that expects products to take punishment and last.

"With our five-day insulation, fully sealed designs, UV-resistant materials and rugged construction backed by a five-year warranty, Kodiak meets the standard Australians demand. Add to that a design language that feels fresh, bold and modern and Kodiak is positioned to thrive across beaches, bush tracks, campsites, worksites and everywhere life outdoors happens," Burnett adds.

"Kodiak stands out because we 'designed' every product, not just built product. Everything is designed around real conditions, not just pretty renderings. Our hard coolers deliver up to five-day cold insulation, reinforced rugged construction, smooth-edge hygiene-safe interiors and full leakproof and waterproof sealing. They are built to take a beating whether on a worksite, a dusty track or a scorching beach and still perform all whilst looking beautiful. Features like integrated bottle openers, drain screws, UV protection and theft-protection points show our commitment to practical, intelligent design. Pair that with bold colourways and timeless aesthetics and Kodiak offers durability with personality. And did we mention, we're 100 per cent Australian owned?"

Indeed, with glowing reviews from publications such as Vogue, Herald Sun, Man of Many and Mindfood, Kodiak fills a gap in the market with a product that focuses on performance, performance and more performance.

"It's understandable why consumers immediately gravitate to the bright, distinctive colours, but what keeps them talking is the performance," Burnett enthuses.

"We consistently hear that the coolers stay cold far longer than expected, feel unbreakable and are engineered with the sort of details people usually only find on premium international brands, yet at an attainable price paint.

"Retail partners, media and early adopters have echoed the same message: Kodiak fills a gap Australia has been waiting for-gear that is rugged, reliable and ready for real adventures."
